Hiy Sam,   I was a regular visitor to your wegbsite last year while looking for my cockapoo.   Got overcome by cockapoo madness and found a puppy in Lincolnshire.   Everything you say about Cockapoos is so true, absolutely loving, very intelligent and so much FUN!
Bolly is now 16 months old, a boy and still intact.   I would love to find another F1 Cockapoo bitch to mate him with.   Would love to see how the F2 turns out.   Do you know of any of Rupert's puppie's owners who may feel the same?   What are your views on F2 breeding?
Lovely site still!
Bev

Hi Bev,
Thank you for your lovely comments about my site.
I have friends who are breeding F2's with success but they sometimes do have a problem finding homes for the flat coated pups. The problem with Cockapoo to Cockapoo is that some pups will take after the poodle side and other the cocker but you do get a more interesting coloured coat and sometimes roans, which are beautiful. Also you have the health testing to consider, re cataracts so its important that you make sure that founder parents have had relevant eye tests and are clear. if you'd like a chat about this feel free to give me a call and perhaps we can find a girlfriend for you Cockapoo boy.
Kind Regards

On my Ruperts Puppies for sale page there are several litters of Ruperts pups for sale. she is the most adorable dog and so well behaved, couldn't have asked for anything more. she has fitted into the family so well.
And she is so clever, the cleverest dog i have ever had and learns very quickly. She's a pleasure to train.
Kingsley and i are hoping to get Pippa a friend this year so fingers crossed.
the pictures sent are 2 of Pippa before the new hair cut and 2 pictures of her after - she looks so cute!
hope to hear from you soon.

Sam,

I was in touch with some months ago when you kindly put me in touch with Ann Tidewell whose KC Cavalier had two Cavapoo puppies in December last.   We were lucky enough to get "Floyd" who is delightful and when I master the art of photographs on the computer, I will send you a picture. In the meantime I attach a picture of him that was sent to me when he was 5 weeks old... he looks pretty much the same, but much bigger! He is a beautiful and very gentle natured dog.   We absolutely adore him and I think he adores us too if licks and cuddles are anything to go by.

We start our venutres into the big world of proper walks next week when he is 12 weeks old but so far has taken and continues to take everything in his stride.   We couldn't feel luckier to have found such a lovely puppy.   Thank you for this Sam. It was your advice and at your suggestion that we even thought about Cavapoos.

The great news for us was that his little sister did not go to the local family who were due to take her, and I had asked Ann to let me know if I could keep both puppies should the first family not work out.   Well, when the decision had to be made, I decided that Floyd had adapted to us so well that it would be better not to "rock that boat" but his little sister went to a friend of mine who lives up the road and the puppies now get to see each other regularly and start puppy classes together on Sunday coming.

So this is just to thank you really - and to say that if there is ever anything we can do to support your work with Dogs for the Hearing, please feel free to call upon us.

Best regards
Tanya Maynard

Hi,
I think you may be in New Zealand by now, if you are and pick this up then I hope you are having a great time. First of all thank you so much for all your help, and doing what you have done for Jack. You will be pleased to hear that after the initial shock but very exciting news from you, we have arranged to pick up a pup from Alison week ending 13.04.08, a little later than we would both like but down to my work and travel the only time I can get down.
I just wanted to thank you so much for your help and advice and guidance, it is so nice to see somebody so thorough and passionate about what they do.
I can not begin to tell you how excited Jack is, as since he was a small boy he has wanted a dog, and this has never seemed possible, so it feels like Christmas everyday for him at the moment.
We will hopefully see you when we come down to collect him, but in the mean time hope you had or are having a great trip.

Kind regards

Chris

Hi
Just thought I would say hello.   We purchased one of Peter's whippet/poodle puppies - Lottie, what a bundle of fun she is and talk of the village, she is such a friently little dog. Everyone is interested in the poodle/whippet cross and can't wait to see how big she will grow, her coat is not curly like a poodle and she is exteremly fast! Puppy socialisation classes are going well and Peter will be pleased to know that the instructor thinks she would be good at agility.
Would be nice to hear from anyone else who has a whippet/poodle. Kim

By the time you read this you will probably be back from holiday and I hope you have had a magnificent time.

A question about Mils, is he a cockapoo and if so who are his parents, he looks such a fine chap, really curly right down to his tail.

Well, Sam, He's gone! The assessor said he would make a great agility dog!
She said there are people on the waiting list that would be able to cope with him, the trouble is, most of them go out to work, and Charlie doesn't do settle very well, a major problem! He behaved so well in the assessment room, he just trotted round, having a good sniff, then he picked up a kong and dropped it on my lap to throw for him. He trotted off, giving me looks over his shoulder as if to say "Arn't you coming, Mum?" That was my downfall! I do miss the big, cuddly clown of a dog!
I'm glad you will rehome him if he doesn't make it, Hearing Dogs seem to do well at rehoming, but I think you would find exactly the right home for Charlie. Fingers and toes crossed that it won't be necessary!
I know you'll be told the result   when I am, but I will contact you anyway.
My new Poodle is actually a Toy, not a miniature as I was told, He is black with white paws and bib. Very cute, but a real live wire, deffinately a Charlie the second in the making!
      Best wishes, Margaret

Awww Magaret, I bet you felt a huge lump in your throat as you walked away from him, I know I did when I read your email!
Well hopefully he will pass the next step. If he doesn't, I do already have a couple of homes ready for him to go to.
I expect you will feel odd at home tonight with your new little clown but i'm sure he will bring you lots of comfort and joy over the coming months.
Thank you so much for all you have done for Charlie, I'm sure the big cuddly clown appreciates you aswell and will be missing you very much.
I have my fingers and toes still crossed for Charlie and wish him all the luck in the world...which ever path he has to take!
Kindest Regards

Hi Sam, I have just found out that Charlies assessment has been bought forward a month. He now goes in February 4th. I am hoping to bring another puppy back with me, this time a straight Poodle. I have never had one before, so it will be interesting to see the difference from a Poodle cross, of which I have had several.
Will be in touch again soon, Margaret

Hi Magaret, Oohh I'm feeling very nervous for him and I hope he passes with flying colours. If he passes will he then leave you for training? It must be a good feeling to see a pup go on then it must be awfully sad at the same time aswell.
A poodle will be fabulous to train but the only problem could be that it might become very attached to you and then not respond to other peoples commands. Rupert my Poodle only listens to me and will ignore any commands from others...much to my husbands disgust.   I understand from other Poodle owners that this is the norm for this breed, but saying that, Lucy my Standard, loved everybody and would even obey commands from complete strangers.
I would be interested to know how you get on with a poodle so let me know and then I can talk to a few poodley friends and prehaps get a few more donated.
Wishing you and Charlie lots of luck and success and best wishes.

Hi Sam

Just to say that just before Christmas we took home one of Rupert's recent offspring with Garbo, the Border Terrier, and he is absolutely adorable, so good natured and really easy to train.   Gordon is about 12 weeks now, and hurtling around the house, desperate for his vaccinations to kick in so he can explore the world outside.   Will send a photo soon.

Siobhan and family

Hi Siobhan Gordon and family, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I can't wait to see pics of Gordon as I'd love to see how the pups turn out. I'm not surprised that he is good natured and easy to train because Garbo is a sweetheart and so good natured (of course Rupert is too) but the mums are the first example a pup has of how to behave and I know Garbo has set a fabulous example to them. Wishing you all lots of happiness and fun.
Kind Regards

Hi Sam, funnily enough, I know where Rodney is, he's with friends of mine near Fareham. I hope to see him at class tomorrow. Do you have an address, phone number or web site they can look at? I'm sure they would love to contact Janice. We had no idea where they had come from.
Good luck with you BSL exam!
Charlie is doing much better, he is still a clown, but everyone loves him! He goes in for assessment on March 10th. We shall be away, and won't know how he gets on until we get home. However, there is a chance that he will have a home assessment. I'll let you know as soon as I know anything.
    Margaret

Thats Brilliant, I'll ring Janice later and tell her, her site is WWW.Jandaz.co.uk and Tel: 01545 560641
Mobile: 07966 302043
I'm also away for most of March in New Zealand, I'll be back on the 20th. Oooh I hope he behaves himself at the assessment I'll have my fingers and toes crossed for him.

Hi Sam, yesterday Charlie and I met a cute chocolate Cockapoo when we were walking back from our local shop. We stopped to have a chat and compare notes, and to our amazement, it was Bunny. What a coincidence! He is a lovely boy, and his Mum and Dad are really enjoying him. Small world, huh?
    Margaret

Hi Magaret, Wow! Small world, How nice for Charlie to meet his half brother "Bunny". I hope Charlie is behaving himself. Oh a friend of mine, Janice from Jandaz, has just donated 2 more Cockapoo pups to Hearing Dogs so keep an eye out for them, they are both black and look very similar to Charlie and called Gerry and Rodney.
Can't wait to hear how Charlie is doing and wish me luck as I have my first BSL stage 2 exam in the next few weeks.
Lots of love

Hi Sam,
Sorry I'v not been in touch for a while but Mum died in August.
I really just wanted to say thank you so much for all your help and advice while Sally was in pup. I have no hesitation in recomending you to anyone who wants to use a Poodle stud. Rupert is such a fabulous stud dog and it was so nice to deal with someone who knows what they are talking about.
All my Labradoodles have gone to their new homes now and it was lovely to receive christmas cards from the pups new owners.
Gregory is the pup I donated and as soon as I hear how he is progressing I will let you know, its so nice to donate a pup to a worthwhile cause and I know this is something we have in common.
I will send you some photos of the pups with their new owners as soon as I can work out how to use the scanner.
Best Wishes for   2008 and give Rupert a kiss from me and Sally.

P.S I would love Sally to have another litter and will contact you when she's due in season, hopefully around March/April

His green rosette is now taking pride of place in the lounge.
He is still excitable, but coming on so well. He has had a hair cut, and is now a very skinny looking boy!

YEAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!! What a clever boy!
Give Charlie and extra big kiss from Me, Isaac and Issy. Right Margaret, now you have to work out how to send me photos <lol>

Hi Sam,
Its Lindsey and Brett. Indi's owners again. Just thought we'd add, she graduated from puppy school today and was 'top of the class' so thanks Rupert for such a clever dog!
xx

Hi Lindsey and Brett, Thankyou so much for the update. I'm very pround of Indi and I'm sure Rupert is too. Ochre probably contributed to the brains though....we are decorating our hallway at the mo and had the big mirror on the floor....Rupert has spent the last hour rushing past it barking and trying to play with the strange dog that keeps looking at him! HEHE! Sam x

Nov 22 2007 10:40 am
HI Sam, it's Margaret and Charlie again. Lucy, my supervisor, took Charlie off for the morning to see how he is getting on. She took him into town, and was very pleased at how well he behaved. I had told her he would, but I don't think she believed me!!
He is now off lead a lot with me, but we still have to watch it if there are other dogs about, or he's gone! We have a lot of work to do on that. But, of course, he is now adallescent, which really doesn't help. The cat isn't very impressed at being mounted either! We go to Puppy class regularly, and he is doing well, copes well with the other dogs around him. Next week we are taking our Bronze Good Citizen, but I doubt very much if we will pass it, he still gets far too excited when he sees another dog. However the experience will be good for him, and I know he can do most of it. I'll let you know what chaos ensues!
  Margaret and Charlie.

Hi Margaret, It was fab to speak to you again last night. I'm sure Charlie will try his best tomorrow but if he fails, never mind, its not the end of the world and I'm sure he'll eventually make the grade.
Charlie sounds so happy with you and if anyone can bring the best out of him it will be you. Prehaps you can bribe him with some sausage....works for his Mum and Dad!
Good Luck

Lets hope you will be able to put Mini Labradoodles (pref chocy)on your site very soon. Gem still hasn't come into season, im begining to wonder if I missed it and she was in at the same time as Poppy was-a wait and see for that one as well. Rupert is such a cutie, were headed for very soppy, cute adorable pups if all goes well. Fingers crossed!

Hi Sam, just to let you know that Charlie is coming on well. We have had him two weeks now, he is learning not to take flying leaps at everyone he meets, and his recall is improving. He is a gorgeous boy, reminds me of the first Cockerpoo I socialised for Hearing Dogs, eight years ago!
Charlie has settled into the household routine brilliantly, and attracts a lot of attention wherever we go!
    Margaret

Oh Magaret, I'm so glad Charlies with you. Its fab to get updates like this and I'v just read it out to my children, who are over the moon that Charlie is happy and doing well. I met some children who I used to look after from the School for the Deaf today, I told them that one of my pups is training to be a hearing dog....they all want him <lol> It makes it all so   worthwhile to know that one day they might actually really have a dog just like Charlie!
Thank you again so much for the update, it really does mean so much.

Hi Sam,
Its Lindsey and Brett, the owners of Indie. Just to let you know that she is an adorable bundle - all be it mischevious!.. and everyone falls in love with her.
She is very loving and cuddly, very intelligent and very cute! Think she will be going for her first grooming this week as I'm not sure she can see much at the moment!
Her coat is adorable though, thick and wavy and always growing - when she is wet she's about half the size!!
Its fab to see all the pics of her half brothers and sisters on here!
Think we are cockapoo addicts now as we'd definitely like to own another sometime in the future as a friend for Indie.
Thanks again Sam,
Brett and Lindsey.

Hi Sam
,
A little update on Tanna or now affectionately known as Padfoot, Tanni, Tannic, Tanz and the latest Hairy Mary! She is such a friendly happy little dog tail always wagging.

Its bedlam when the children are here the 2 year old and Tanna spend the whole time chasing about and tug of war over the soft toys.
Tanna does not see the point of the dishwasher when she is perfectly capable of cleaning the dishes!
She still does circuits of the garden runs through the patio door, springs off the rug & into your lap which I found quite amusing until I was holding a cup of coffee!

Remember that sunny day we had (I think it was called summer) well that's when I learnt that Tanna could swim, the children where all playing in one of those large pools about 3 ft deep,Tanna was flying round and round it barking because she could hear the children and not see them. Picked Tanna up to show her what was going on she went in the water and swam right across the pool, That was before she was allowed out for walkies.l

But what impressed me more that anything was that I have spent the last 9 years throwing a ball for Kez and fetching it myself!   The first time I throw a ball for Tanna she brought it straight back and put it at my feet!

Hope you are all well, still keeping an eye on your site, busy girl eh, loved seeing all the new pups, and it was great to see a pic of Milo, hope you get pics of the others.Have sent a few pics of Tanna over the weeks, the latest is at the woods taken this morning.   She really is magic and one of the best decisions taken.

Take care,

Tanna & Denise xxxxxxx

Hi Sam, I've been researching breeds for a quite a few months now and a cockapoo seems to be the ideal addition to my family. I am however now a little unsure of how to go a head. I have read alot of the entries on the Labradoodle association forum and there seems to be mixed opinion of where to get a puppy from.I would obviously only want one that was considerately bred, healthy and well socialised. I wondered if you could either suggest any where or offer any advice. This would be greatly received.                                                                       Thanks Karen x

Hi Karen,
Its lovely to hear from someone who loves Cockapoos. They are fabulous dogs and make excellent companions and family members. In my opinion I would   get a puppy from a home breeder, there are reasons for this but the main one is home breeders do not treat their pups as a buisness, but as pets. They will always have the best intrests of their dogs at heart over money and profit. As long as they have done this responsibly and taken the time to plan and to make sure their bitch is healthy and the stud is vet checked and a good specimen with a fabulous temprement then you will get a well rounded and well socialised, happy, healthy puppy.
Having said that, I know of some home breeders who DO NOT have the dogs best intrests at heart and have bred their bitch straight after the last litter! They also have had NO HEALTH CHECKS! There are also some very good bigger breeders like Janice at Jandaz, who have a huge wealth of experience. Janice is very friendly and honest and is my first port of call if I need some advice.
The trouble is finding out which is which so I would ask lots of questions about health checks and when they last had a litter ect. A good breeder will ask you questions too, so they should not be offended.
Thewre will be a repeat mating of Rupert and Poppy next year and keep checking back for more info on pups that Rupert has sired. Rupert has a clear eye certificate and other relevant health checks regulary. He also has an excellent temperement and I make sure that all the girls that visit him are in good health and have friendly personalities. If you are intrested or would like some more advice or have any questions please don't hesitate to call me on my home number 01395 222895 you can email me on martinmargot@aol.com

17.10.07 This question was originaly asked in June but has been bumped up to the top as I get asked it regulary.

Hi Sam,
My wife and I have been lucky to have schnauzers that have given us a lot of love. Sadly our little boy died far too young of a liver complaint.
I have researched mini schnauzers and far more are dyeing at an earlier age. Therefore I would like a schnoodle, schnauzer cross poodle. This gives a better gene pool and also a beautiful well mannered doggy.
If any one knows of a Scnoodle breeder or if you breed one Sam, please contact me at Alzsplace@aol.com.
Thanks again

It was lovely talking to you Alan and it was very moving to here your story. You sound like perfect dog owners and I'm sure any dog will be honered to come home with you. I have updated my stud adverts to include Schnauzers as you are not the only one who is looking for this cross. If I get a lady Schnauzer in to see Rupert I will call you straight away. If anyone else knows of a litter due please be sure to contact Alan as he will make an excellent owner. I hope your new best friend becomes a reality very soon.
Kindest Regards

I have just visit your site and I think you are on of the most sincere breeders I have come across. I have been searching the internet for a few months now. My daughter has been wanting a dog since she was four, She is now 10.   I do believe that the prices for these pups are expansive, but when I read your article I realized that there is truth in your words and therefor, I understand. Hi there Sam, think the last pup has found a good home now, it looks like she's off to Wales. I really appreciate all the help you've given and your patience too. Cant believe how alike Ochre and Poppys pups were consisering they are so different themselves. Its the sad bit next, time to say goodbye, this must be a practice run for having grandchildren, Im so attatched!!! hopeless I know but there you go. Love Pam

Hi Sam,
Sad when all your babies go, at least you can be comforted by the knowledge that they have had the very best start in life and that they are all going to superb homes where they will be much loved and appreciated.
You will soon cheer up when you start recieving updates and pics from the new happy owners!
LOL hun.

Hi Sam Just to let you know all puppies are sold now thank you so much for having them on your site Jan X

Hi Jan, Thats great, I hope they have long and happy lives with their new owners. Charlie the Hearing Pup has just gone to his new Puppy Walker so I'm feeling a little sad but excited for him. I will see him again in 1 month at his 1st Puppy Training class.

Hi Sam just dropped by .. your puppy,s are looking great . Speak to you soon jan x

Hi Jan,
Thanks, They are running me ragged at the mo! I keep having to rush to my neighbours cause I run out of newspaper so quickly. I hope you have saved loads cause if your like me and can't stand smells then you'll be changing paper after every poo!<lol> Your pups are soo sweet too, can't wait to see how they develop.
